What's new?

Yes we can! We will be back with three Pinter shorts in the winter semester 2021/22!

Because of the COVID-19 crisis, we have had to cancel all projects between January 2020 and June 2021. But now we are back with a new production:
?

Tue 23rd, Wed 24th, Mon 29th November, 8:30 p.m.
at the Sensemble Theatre:

Landscape, Night, Family Voices

3 short plays by Harold Pinter

?

Harold Pinter (1930 ? 2008), Nobel Prize winner 2005, was one of the most important modern British playwrights. The three short plays Landscape, Night and Family Voices belong to a group of plays that are sometimes classified as “memory plays”, because they explore the ambiguities and vagaries of memory.

?

Sale of tickets starts Mon 8th November at Taschenbuchladen Krüger or online on this website.

This production of Landscape, Night and Family Voices is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.

Our plans for 2022

At the moment we are considering the production of two? short(ish) plays by Caryl Churchill, but the final decision will not be made until January, 2022. As usual, we are looking for newcomers to join our team, actresses and especially (simply because we have got so few) male actors. So if you have good or even perfect English and would like to act in our next production, or if you would like to be a prompt, lend a helping hand with stage management, makeup, stage design, sound design and costumes, or join our backstage and front of house teams, do get in touch with us. We welcome people from all backgrounds and different parts of the globe, and you don’t even have to be a student to join us!

?

Join us at our introductory meeting for the 2022 summer season

on Tuesday 18th January at 7:15 p.m.
in rm 2127A (D building of the university).

AnglistenTheater production of Amanda Whittington's Thrill of Love featured in Nick Hern Books new blog post

In 2020, Nick Hern Books published a blog post about their Most-Performed Plays of 2019. Amanda Whittington’s play The Thrill of Love?made the Top 10 and, because Nick Hern liked our pictures so much, they featured a photo from the AnglistenTheater production! Take a look at the blog post here.

A new AnglistenTheater Icon

? Julia Wittmann

?

?

Julia Wittmann ...

... has created a magnificent new Icon for the AnglistenTheater – although it’s in fact ages since we last produced one of Shakespeare’s plays: to be precise, this was Macbeth back in 1990 (see History of the AnglistenTheater).

?

We are still working ...

... on ways to make this icon available on T-shirts and, perhaps, mugs, at a reasonable price.

?

So perhaps in 2020 ...

... when we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we’ll be able to tell you how to get hold of these.

Interested in joining us?

We always welcome new members, whether they would like to be on stage as actresses and actors, or rather join our team of creatives or the backstage and front of house crew. ?? ?
